Medical update on Martijn de Jong

The Dutch rider is currently back home recovering from the injuries suffered at Ronde de l'Isard. After five days in a French hospital, the Dutchman transferred to The Netherlands by ambulance. Martijn suffered several fractures in his neck, back and shoulder. Luckily everything is stable now, but the recovery process will take some time. It took less than 20 km in today’s Arno Wallamaard Memorial for the wind to break the race into small groups. After a hectic start, our Fabio Jakobsen, Martijn de Jong and Ide Schelling were all well-positioned and quickly bridged to the first group. Unfortunately, Ide was involved in an unlucky accident and couldn't get back to the front group. Martijn de Jong is enjoying his second season with the team. He feels he is in the right place to keep growing as a rider. "The development focus is key for us riders. The team does not always look at the results, but rather to the performance. This gives us a lot of confidence.
