We are really happy to reinforce our Performance team and welcome Ioannis Tamouridis (1980) as new SEG Racing Academy’s Performance Manager. Ioannis is a BSc in Physical Education & Sport Sciences and he is in progress of finishing a MSc in Human Performance and Health at the University of Thessaloniki. On the bike, Ioannis combined a road & track career that lasted 17 years on elite level.

Tamouridis, took part in two Olympic Games (London 2012 & Rio 2016), is a multiple time World Championship medal winner on the track, Overall World Cup winner and raced for Euskaltel-Euskadi in the UCI World Tour.​
“The Academy is made up of the most talented and dedicated cyclists in the category and being able to work with them is every coach’s wish. I am excited about the idea of helping young talented athletes to become tomorrow’s cycling stars. Our role is not just training them but also coaching and guiding these talents by passing on the right philosophy and behavior” points out Ioannis. 

Tamouridis will continue the work that fellow countryman, Vasilis Anastopoulos, started back in 2015 and he’s is ready to play his part in our quest of becoming one of the best development teams in the world. .”It’s a big personal challenge. Vasilis (Anastopoulos) and the coaching team were capable of raising the bar every year. I am very optimistic because ​together with the scientists and experts at CyclingLab we have been able to created a scientific-based approach to guide our talents in the best possible way, racing and performance wise. The responsibility is high, but I am very motivated contribute in this project’s growth”.
