Hard day out for the team in Top Competitie’s TT Emmen. Three of our riders featured the final top 10 of today’s 27 km time trial. The race presented a flat and tough parcour which was run in the open roads around the Dutch city.
Our first rider off the ramp was Hartthijs de Vries, who put on big power during the whole length of the circuit and ended up in sixth overall. The strong Dutchman showed his from after setting an average speed well above the 48 km/h.
In his return back to racing after a crash at the U23 Giro d’Italia, Jan Maas powered to tenth with teammate Marten Kooistra just missing out the final top 10.
Best Young Rider jersey wearer and second on GC, Adriaan Janssen, finished the day in seventh place after a very hard ride. Those efforts allowed him to keep his spot in the overall classification as well as securing himself a traineeship at Lotto-Jumbo after reaming in the white and orange jersey.
