Tough weekend at the Giro U23
We had a rough run at the Giro d’Italia in the past two days. On Saturday, a predominantly flat stage set the tone for a potential bunch sprint. Despite a first attempt of two riders to make it up the road, the bunch allowed them close to five minutes before speeding up. With 20 km to go the group was back in one piece, and with a bit over 10 km a duo of riders broke clear and got a significant gap. The efforts of the peloton, led them to chase it down with just 150 m to go, with our Kaden Groves sprinting to third.

Yesterday’s stage featured some gravel sections at the closing part of the day, which awaited for some big action at the end. The first group of 10 riders went away, but shortly after a group of 17, including our Bárnabas Peák were set to chase. Bad luck stroke our interests as Thymen Arensman, Kaden Groves and Bárnabas Peák were involved in crashes that ended any GC aspiration we had.

We have six more chances, and we are not going to back down! There’s plenty of racing still to be done, and we are ready for it.
