Van den Berg sprints to 15th in the last race of the season
Today’s 184 km that featured Belgium’s Putte Kapellem, were our last racing kilometers of the season. The course presented a tough and quick local circuit of a length of 16,7 km that the riders tackled a total of 11 times.

The pace was high since the very first kilometers of the day as the peloton did not let any large group away. The interest of some teams keep the group together so they could tackle the two intermediates sprints featured in each lap did not allow any large group to go away until 80 km to go. At that point a group of 14 riders were allowed a gap, and our colors were represented in that move by Cees Bol. The breakaway was allowed close to two minutes by the pack and got to the last lap ahead.

The good understanding among the breakaway members kept them in front until less than 2 kilometers were reaming. Once the break was caught the victory was decided in a bunch sprint were Julius van den Berg powered to 15th with teammates Marten Kooistra (20th) and trainee Jordi Meeus (17th) also filled the Top 20.
