Harrison Wood joined the Academy ahead of the 2020 season, after collecting some interesting results as a first-year in the category while riding in France. The talented British climber joined our program with the aim of progressing and developing on and off the bike.

“The season was definitely strange with the COVID-19 pandemic. I look back with mixed feelings for sure. I did a really nice calendar once the racing started again and that was really nice. The highlight was definitely the Giro d’Italia U23 and the stage win we took with Jordi was really great and enjoyable” points out Wood.

The 20-year old is set and ready to continue his upwards path towards becoming a GC rider. Despite the restrictions, Wood could get himself some experience in the biggest U23 multi-day races in 2020. “For me I want to improve once again as a GC rider. In particular the changing of rhythm on climbs for example. In a lot of races I had the legs to follow until the final of the climb which really cost me some good opportunities”.

Looking to next year, the young Brit is excited about what’s coming and the possibility of showing himself as he will be entering into his third year in the category. “I look at 2021 with a lot of excitement. I’m really looking forward to my 2nd year with SEG Racing Academy and hopefully doing a full year of racing. We have a really strong team so I’m sure we all have a good season with nice results”.
